exhaust smell when WOT?
I have a 99 camaro ss with intake and flowmaster muffler. Everything else is factory. The other night i decided to give it some gas and could smell exhaust in the car right when i floored it. There is no sound of an exhaust leak. What can it be?

are you still smelling it now or was it just a one time thing. It is hard to diagnose this concern with no other concerns to go with it. I would regard it as a "hiccup" until you can reproduce at will. you should not be smelling raw fuel from the exhaust.Even sitting still you shouldnt smell raw fuel. At 60 mph you shouldnt smell anything unless there is a major problem. Is it a possibilty that someone around or in front of you floored it as well?? Just trying to justify why you would have this occur.

there was no one else on the road. Basically it smelled like if my exhaust was pointing into my car. I havent hit the gas since then so i dont know if it does it again. I was thinking maybe a lose EGR? But like i said there is no ticking from an exhaust leak.

How often do drive the vehicle, If you do not drive it often it is possible that you "blew it out" by that i mean flooring it could have un seated some build up that occurs from not "DRIVING" it hard - you know what i mean. I do not have an explanation for the smell with out there being an exhaust leak or hiccup or backfire through the intake plenum.
