Default POLL: Would anyone be interested in this spoiler, made by 6LE?

I've been kicking this idea around for a while. Firebirds, Formulas, and Trans Ams don't have too many spoiler options, and the ones that are available usually don't look too good. I think a lip spoiler would look pretty good. it would be similar to the SLP IROC spoiler, but it would be a separate piece that would follow the lines of the stock spoiler. I did some rough 'chops, the spoilers pictured would be carbon fiber, painted on the sections near the sail panel, and the rear lip would be exposed CF. It could be made with fiberglass as well and painted to match.

I'm sure this would appeal more to the Firebird/Formula owners, but some T/A guys might like it. I figured I'd throw it out there to appeal to a wider audience.

I've suggested the idea to 6LE for him to make, but he isn't sure how much interest there would be for something like this. I think it would be a subtle yet aggressive addition, not too "over-the-top", but a noticeable difference from stock. What do you guys think?

Here's the photoshops:

On phantomzer0's car:

On Bad Blu Formula's car:

On NVR_SPDS car:

I also made a rough cardboard mock-up, to get a 3D view of it. Stand by for pics.

Again, this is a rough mock-up, just to get an idea of the general shape of the spoiler. The sections that run up to the sail panel wouldn't be flat like the cardboard, they'd be more molded to flow with the stock spoiler.

you should just rock the cardboard spoiler set-up instead.

j/k. It wouldnt apply to me, but I think something like that would be pretty cool if done right.

are you making it for the low rise spoiler or the high rise spoiler? also those photoshops were ******* horrible haha. i'm not sure if this is a mecham wannabe or not. I love the mecham spoilers.. but I don't like how they look from the rear. If there was a design that could pull that off I'm down to spend the coin.

It could be for both. I'm sure the high-rise version would be shaped a little differently to match that spoiler's lines. I know the photoshops are horrible, I'm no professional for sure.

It's kind of similar to the Mecham spoilers, but not as "over-the-top". It's the same width as the stock spoiler, so it's not really like the whale-tail Mecham spoilers.

Just for the record, I wouldn't be making these. It's an idea I suggested to 6LE, and want to see if there's any interest in it.

My idea is kind of similar, and seeing as SLP doesn't make the IROC spoiler anymore, this would probably be the next closest thing.

Good idea for something different. If I still owned my TA I might be interested.

The spoiler would also completely wrap around the stock spoiler. The cardboard mock-up doesn't completely cover it.

Why no create a spoiler that gets a little more lip and a little wider at the ends. Do I make sense? I mean a spoiler that doesn't look stacked up, one that flows a little better and doesn't build up. From the mock up pictures it resembles way too much to the one by wings west.

Well, that's not going to happen unless there's enough interest to produce one.
