Default Anyone else replaced LS1 with LS6, Harness OK?

I'm waiting for an LS6 crate motor to arrive for a swap with the LS1 in my 2000 Trans Am. When I talked to the GM Parts dept before ordering, they said the LS1 wiring harness is the same and would work, and that I just needed to re-flash the PCM with an LS6 program. So I didn't order a new harness or computer...

Is it really going to work?

Anyone had issues using a 2000 LS1 wiring harness with a 2004 LS6 crate motor?

Any other weird gotchas, like knock sensor incompatibility, etc?

Thanks - I just don't want to have to stop in the middle and go find a new wiring harness and computer, or get it all installed only to find the harness doesn't work...

Everything should swap right over.

The only difference between your 2000 LS1 & the LS6 are the heads & cam. Flashing the PCM w/ LS6 tune will help, but by the list of mods you have, a good tune will really help that thing run.

It is a direct swap. I have both an LS1 & an LS6 short block that are used in my car. Also, as mentioned, get a tune to get the benefits out of your mods.

Thanks, guys; I'll sleep easier over the weekend. I'm definitely headed to the dyno as soon as the swap is done. I'm hoping to pick 25 HP or so over the stock LS6 tune, but I'm actually more interested in seeing how the torque numbers turn out. I'll use that every day, but i won't see the extra HP at top end that often, or at least that's what I tell my wife...
