Default Xsta Question: License Plate Frame Opinions Please:

I don't want to get a chrome one, since nothing else on my car is chrome...

I like this Billet frame with the Bowtie on it:

What do you all think?

Nice. Although I am not a big fan of fancy liscence plate frames. I have a very simple one piece lens and black frame on mine.

Xsta,
When I ordered the above frame, Billet Specialties didn't show that the bottom of the frame has holes too. I checked back to the billet specialties site, and they changed the picture to show the holes. I noticed that your frame has holes along the bottom too though? What did you do about them to fill them in?

Thanks,
JonSS

Jon, dont fill in the holes.. just get two more bowtie bolts

and I like my frames simple also.. mine is chrome since I have chrome wheels (and the car is pewter).. for your car a nice brushed alum could would look good.. if the frame has any ball milled lines in it then paint them black or red for accent.. nice, simple and clean

my .02

On plates and or plate frames with four holes I use four bolts, two to mount the plate to the car, and fill the other holes with a pair of matching bolts and flat plate fasteners. I also put little rubber vacuum caps on the ends of the bolts so the bumber paint doesn't get scratched.

Like Steve said, on my Berger I filled the bottom holes with bowtie bolts and anodised blue washers.

I was thinking about painting the ball milled lines red to match the car. I guess i'll need to get myself two more bowtie bolts... with red washers of course

Xsta, thanks for the advice as well. Flat plate fasteners solves my problem. Thanks!

Jon
