Default Timing for a 6.0 with Trex

I need a good idea of what to tune the MSD 6010 with my 6.0, want to see what anyone here has going, the engine is about 10 to 1 with the cam timed straight up. Victor Jr intake and 750 CFM double, any help is needed.

My motor ran like crap with 30* in it. On my motor (6.0 LQ9 with a XER281HR) I believe the most it sees is around 26. Runs great now, but again, some one (not saying names) put almost the entire high octane timing table at 30*+. Maybe grab a Aeroforce gauge, or HPtuners (if you are running a computer) just for data logging and fine tuning.
You should be able to tinker a bit, though if it does start detonating it ends up going into the low octane table like mine did. What did you end up going with spec wise? (I stalk you here and over on TGO lol)

The Trex cam? I am running 36* right now, it runs good but i am carbed, guess i might try pulling timing, i stopped my buddies pull(he had the jump) and his 6.0 has a V2 torqer, but he backs his timing down from 36* above a certain RPM, so I might try that?

I have a TREX as well. My total is 28* with around 14* at idle (1000 rpm). I am also carb'd. It's all in by 2000 rpm. Still working out a monster stumble from idle to WOT.

prolly best way to find the correct curve is with a wbo2. its what i had on the other car. i know its kinda pricey upfront but will tell u where the motor is most happy with timing.

Carbed?

Dropped it down to 30* to see how it felt, hard to tell really, gonna go to the track in a few weeks and dial it in that way.

You need to have a ramping timing curve. I would start out with 28* at 3Krpm and slope it downward to 26* at 4400-4800rpm and then ramp it back up to 29* by 6500rpm. Basically you want to pull a slight amount of timing at peak torque and after the peak torque to keep the torque and power up you'll ramp the timing back into it. This has worked very well on many of the car's I've tuned.

yeah it ran a 12.1 @119 with aterrible 60' of 1.90. I have a huge stumble I need to figure out. Some guys have said a 50cc pump works with some pink cams, but I have not tried it yet. I wrote a new curve with 16* initial and a quick ramp up to 28* all in at 2800 rpm. The car pulls really hard up top so I'll leave the curve flat for now. Just tring to get the car to 60' first.

Try bumping your idle timing up a bit say 18-20* and fatten it a little and this should smooth out the transition.

cheers

Check the difference the idle cells in your base timing versus your low/high timing. If there is a difference, once the throttle opens you will get a stumble when going WOT from idle.
