You can drill and tap the adapter above the oil filter if it's the f body type.

Are there any other good options??
Mine is a block-off (type) plate. There is not a threaded fitting for a sender.

put it in the stock location
I'm using an Autometer with remote mount. Uses a fitting for the stock location and then a 3ft long hose and the sensor goes at the end of the hose.

Ummm...I don't know where the stock location is, exactly.
I have an Autometer gauge also (dash mount).
Did you have to purchase a separate fitting for the stock location??
Can you help me out with any part numbers??

The stock sender is behind the intake, but getting an aftermarket sender in there is usually hard to do because they are so much bigger than stock. My Autometer sender was about 2 1/2 wide and wouldn't fit without a really long adapter, which seemed like it would be easy to break off.

Are you using a remote oil filter?? If you are then you can use an adapter and T off for a sender. You can drill and tap the adapter on the pan by the filter, which is the easiest to do, but usually requires remote location for the sender cuz of limited space and if you are using LT headers then heat will be an issue. If you want pressure from BEFORE the filter you can pull the plug at the drivers side of the front of the engine and put a sensor in there, Ive seen a company actually market this for Vette guys with an extension harness, I cant remember if it was a vendor. You can also try to figure something out at the back of the engine behind the intake where the factory sender was, but like said before access and room are an issue.

Probably the same as your block-off plate.

Since the LS1 doesn't use input to the PCM from the oil pressure sensor.. I broke the black part off of the sensor, taped it for my OEM pressure gauge and used it as a adapter. Then took the block off / bypass plate (above the filter) to accept my Autometer gauge.

So I have both a after market gauge and a stock dash Idiot Light !

I assumed he was talking about the smooth kind of bypass that didn't have the part that sticks out molded onto it. I think that trucks went to that style in 2003 or so because my 2002 had the kind you could drill and tap. I would think it would be an inexpensive part to buy, and would be easier if space is at a minimum close to the firewall.

You can buy this kit. Equus - Oil Pressure and Electronic Temp. Metric Adapter Kit (9848)
It has adapters that fit both the oil port at the rear of the intake and water port on the aft side of the passenger head. I think the temp gauge needs to be electronic because the mechanical style ones are to big for the adapter and port. I have read that here in another post. I used this kit to install autometer gauge set to the ls1.
