LT1-LT4 Modifications - could my valvetrain be out of whack?

Long story short. I built my ta about 4yrs. ago, I ordered ported stock heads from a performance shop out of indiana, the owner told me the heads were not milled, and to run stock length pushrods. Which I did. car has 1.6 crane gold nsa's. guideplates, and comp beehive springs. and cc306 cam.. 93' ta.
anyways I always noticed that the tops of the rr's were getting chewed very little at a time, here are some pics after about 50,000mi. could the owner of the shop lied and the heads are milled?atleast by looking at the pics? should I be really worried by the way the rr's look? would it make the car lose power? run lean? rich? I never knew how to check pr length, I guess I should by a checker and learn to use one, just trying to get some professional opinions if I should check into the geometry of the valvetrain?

That is really strange. The CC306 is not even a big lift cam either.

Bottom line. If you change the cam and install aftermarket roller rockers, and someone says to "just run stock PR length", they should be ignored. Obviously the damage you see is the result of physical contact that should not be taking place.

PR length needs to be determined by evaluating the contact pattern on the top face of the valves. Wrong PR length can lead to carnage and loss of performance.

I thought that didn't look right..:D
Ok I will get a pr length checker and get the right length, and then it's off to st. louis for a better dynotune. thanks.

x2!!! ALWAYS check for correct PR length. I couldn't believe it when a very reputable porter on here sent me my cam kit WITH push rods and no PR length checker, when I called asking where the checker tool was I was told I didn't need one and that I was sent the right PR's for the kit -even tho they had no clue about my head set up! needless to say the PR's were wrong for my application.

06GTO- I'd also check to make sure the valve covers were properly clearenced for the RR's

The pr diff. is prob. why the car never put down quite the power or times it should.,Car is stock bottom end, but almost every bolt on besides elec. wp and undrive pullies. The best time the car ever laid down on slicks is a 12.8 at 106mph. on a 1.8 60ft. full interior/weight.
here is the mod list.

You don't need to clearance stock VC's for Crane Golds as they are one of the few RR's that fit without this needing to be done. Unlike the the promags.
