Default good or bad idea?

right now im using a stock exhaust with a cut out. but i dont think that even helps my hp gains at all. just makes it loud lol. is it a good idea just to install a slp loudmouth muffler on the "I" pipe and take the rest of the exhaust off? so i wont have any piping after the muffler and no pipes will come out the back. what do you guys think?

Thats the same thing i'd like to do. Just have some type of bullet muffler and dump it and not have pipes out the back. To me it seems better than a catback but i probably wont do it, because it seems like it would make the rear of the car look funny because the trans am bumper has the spaces made in it for pipes..
