Default Little Pre-Spring Cleaning (56k, do some laundry)

I've been getting my car ready to get back on the road this past week, been working on it to get it to past inspections and cleaning it up since it has been sitting since last summer. Just wanted to share some pics, don't have too many of my progress since I didn't have my camera on me , oh well.

Outside of the car, only pic I have, first wash since August lol. My underhood side is still pretty dirty, gonna get to that next week since I'm outta degreaser lol.

Getting ready to clean under the hood. Recently removed the A/C, and redid my trans cooler. Of course, have some nice fingerprints and marks on the strut towers, and engine a bit dirty. Also, have a ABS delete kit thanks to SJM Manufacturing, love it!

As you can see, the Volant intake holds your cleaning tools and beer very well .

Very dirty around the fuse area, nasty nasty.

And engine too

My supervisor, don't wanna get him grouchy.

I only used some cheap degreaser and CD2 Engine shine/bright/whatever on it, after degreaser set I used some microfiber cloths with soapy water, and ever present elbow grease to get some spots.

cleaner fuse area

and, the supervisor is approving of the job

Thanks for looking guys.

It's a Volant Intake, they range about $250. For Camaro's, they come with 1 large filter (like the K&N cold air kit), and for Firebirds the dual cone.

It really depends on how bad stuff is caked on. If you let it go too long, then you'll need a heck of alot of elbow grease to free it up!

No ABS, lets me control the brake bias front to rear.

Yeah that stuff is pretty good! It let me cut down on the elbow grease and turned out great! The only downside of it was I ran out. But oh well, I got that can like 2 years ago so can't really complain lol.

If anything you would need to put larger weather striping around the intake. I know on WS6 hoods you need a taller/larger stripping to seal to the hood, so I'm sure you could pick up the intake and some stripping from lowes that'll get the job done.'

And it will work! Cause I want a firehawk/raptor style hood and I'll make mine fit lol.
