which sponsor for T56 repair and cost?
i looking to buy a car with the output shaft broken. The tranny has had upgrades but broke the shaft. I see 2 forum sponsors(Morris,Tick) can fix this tranny. Are there any other sponsors that i am missing on the board that i should look at? I will remove and ship the tranny. Dont think i trust myself to go into it.
Has anybody had any work done by these 2 shops?
I have heard about a viper upgrade whats it cost compared to a stock shaft?
I also heard about a Z06 shaft is better than a viper..Cost on it?
I guess i would also need a yoke(1350 joint)
Here are the following upgrade the tranny already has in it:
98 Z28 3500lb,500rwhp + 200HPN2O
Hardened 2nd & 3rd gear
Hard Shift Fork
Billet Key ways
CF Syncro's
Moster 5 clutch
Tick m/c
Please pm a estimate on the viper upgrades(parts)(if i decide to tackle myself) also one with parts and labor (if i get scared)and want you to do it. lol
Also turn around time.

Being that you are in Texas, Morris could probably get it back to you quicker since he's in the Houston area.
And you cannot use a Z06 shaft in your unit. If you want to upgrade the mainshaft, go with the modified Viper shaft. You will also need the tailhousing machined to accept the larger bushing and seal along with a machined reluctor wheel and spacer for the speedo to work correctly.

We offer the viper parts as a kit now and it will include a new 1350 yoke as well as a new tailhousing. No need in hasseling with sending a core housing in and waiting. If you don't want any of the level 2 rebuild stuff because you already have it then we'd just take the difference from the price of the level 3.
