timing chain
well, its about that time for me to get my h/c package from tsp, and theres a choice to updgrade to a double adj chain for $120. i was wondering if its worth it? im getting the ls6 stage 1 or 2.5 with a custom cam. wondering if the chain will help tune etc therefore making more power.
on a budget so of course im wanting to know if i should save up just a tad more and take the plunge

Double timing chain
Just on heads and cam setups a single LS2 chain setup is plenty. On most double chain applications you have to space the oil pump and timing cover for clearance. And often machine .300 off the balancer for clearance. Not worth the trouble iam only letting you know because i just got an IWIS rollmaster double setup and everyone on here advises agianst it. Just my two cents.

The LS2 chain can be run on factory gears if you like. You can also go with a single chain set that will come with gears as well. Either one should be fine. The double chain won't pick up any power but are a little stronger. For your combo, you will be fine either way.

What's meant by it "can be more fun" on factory gears. I now understand that it is stronger, but does it have any other characteristics except strength.
Thanks
