ya know im a little upset after reading that article

ive ran mobile 1 and had good luck with 200,100 miles on the truck
but i always convinced myself that i was paying high dollar for quality oil to do its job
i do believe im switching to valvoline durablend when i transplant motors
good to know now!
good article, thanks for posting

Ya gotta be really careful reading tests like this, as it's SO much less than the full picture.

Think about how many engines we've all seen at the track that were grenaded. How many of those failures could be traced to a breakdown in oil film strength rather than true, flat out limitations in mechanical strength or quality of the part that broke? More than likely all of them.

What this article doesn't tell you, perhaps because the writers don't know, is that based on this one test alone, chlorine bleach is the very best engine lubricant on the market today as it has a film strength far in excess of any oil. We all know how that would work out in actual practice.

Looking at only one slice of the API testing pie will lead to very badly skewed, and very unfairly skewed results.
