Default SMD towers installed in brake/reverse lights

Sorry for the crappy pics. I used white 27-SMD towers in the reverse lights and red 28-SMD towers for the brake lights. I also used resistors for the brake lights in order for cruise control to work... (some cars have this issue and some don't)

Dark to light in front of my house taken from the same spot: (notice in the first pic that you can barely see the left side of my garage frame, its slightly illuminated from the neighbors porch lights across the street)

Parking lamps engaged:

BRAKES engaged:

A little side marker project I did. I used 5-Red SMDs for each side, shaved them smooth and covered them in black vinyl:

Breathing Fire- Thanks! Now if I could only get a decent pair of bulbs for my hid fogs that will actually match in color

The Camaro 3155 towers I got were about 40 shipped.

I believe the Firebird 1156 ones are about 25 shipped on ebay.

ebay... Only one seller on ebay sells the reverse bulbs for Camaros. I got the brake lamps from ebay as well, but from a different seller.

I will be installed an led strip for license plate tomorrow

The Firebird reverse light housing is designed differently than the Camaro as you know. The Camaro has NO chrome reflectors in the reverse light housings and are rectangular, while the Firebirds do have chrome to reflect the light and are round. I think they will look brighter when u look directly at them, but I am not sure if they would project more light than filament bulbs with the lights blacked out.
I assume the answer is yes, but I could be wrong... The Firebird reverse lights are brighter than the Camaros regardless of the bulb used due to the chrome reflectors in the housings...

I put eBay seller Warden_JP2002 3157 LEDs in my reverse lights (Firebirds take 3157 style bulbs for reverse/brakes). They're pretty bright but not as bright as the special halogens mounted on 3157 bases that you can buy at Pep Boys. I need your honest opinion - are the LED brake lights brighter or dimmer than stock tungsten?

I did a side by side comparison of reverse lights in my garage at night with no lights on (Passenger=stock bulb Driver=SMD). I would say the SMDs produce about 90-95% of the light that the stock bulbs produce. Although it was really hard to tell the difference. It seemed like the stock bulbs project further out, while the SMDs cover more surface area...

Overall I like them because they will not burn out and they look badass, way better than ugly yellow filament bulbs

As far as the brake lights are concerned, the SMDs are brighter than stock when only the parking lamps are engaged, but are dimmer than stock bulbs when applying the brakes...
