Default Put myself in a Jam.. Tune myself (no experience) or take it to a tuner? Where in MI?

Guys,
I've got my ms3 cam package on order. I had setup a tuner (well known one around here) but he can only do a street tune.

I decided by the time I pay for his HPtuners credits, and buy a wideband etc.. I may as well get a professional tune. But thats $500,

and I have no idea where in Michigan to get tuned.

Bakers is really far away, and livernois motorsports wants far to much $$$

Can you guys recommend some options???
buy hptuners and tune myself... or take it to a tuner (but where?)

Thanks !

Where do you live? That is a good place to start. I know a guy in the Flint area who does a good job.

i live in Auburn hills,

southeast michigan,

Talked to Bakers, but they're 2 1/2 hours away and want $500.00.

I wish I knew how to tune I'd just do it myself. what a PITA

I have no idea were you are or the quality of tuners in your area.

What I do know is there are some extremely good underground tuners.....so maybe don't rule out your street tuner.

If you can qualify your street tuner, buy HPT and use your credits for him to tune.

Then you are set if your up to the challenge!

Ya I actually already have an "underground" tuner.

But I'd really like a reputable dyno shop, in my area that isn't going to rip me off.

too bad livernois doesn't have the reputation and their prices are sky high

Just wondering, what do you consider a reasonable price? Is $500 a ripoff?

Why do you say they aren't reputable? They are as reputable as it gets.
Their prices are in line with everyone else pretty much too. Every tuner charges
around $500 basically.

The guy I you gave charges $600 but he keeps the car for 1-2 full days and fully tunes the car. Cold start, driveability, dyno tune, etc.
