Default Md Emissions Test

I had my 2000 Impala tested today(Owings Mills) and I noticed that they finally got rid of the rollers and they used mirrors on every car that came through, they checked every car for converters. This was a first at Owings Mills, in the past they would just check the gas cap and OBD test.
I guess it`s time to start thinking about a y-pipe with high flow cats.

Let me know were you go, and if they mirror your car. I would bet that most of the inspectors don`t really see what there looking at, especially on a crowded day. The only concern that I have is my bad luck, the sound of my car, along with the nice fuel smell.

My Subaru is due pretty soon, so I`m going to try Westminister and see what they do over there. I really don`t want to buy a catted y-pipe.

Ive never had, or heard of, or even seen the mirror move from the dusty corner from the Bel Air location.

I took a gutted, race gas, on radials, track #'s car there once...all they did was ask questions

Bel air is easy, same as notfast......never seen a mirror in the place. they are usually too lazy to even sit in the car to hook up the obd cable

Maybe Bel air is the place to go, I`m glad the Subaru is due so I can check them out first.

I think the mirror stuff was new over at Owings Mills because all of the mirrors looked brand new, and every lane had one and was used on every car that went through.

I recently took a work truck to the glen burnie location and asked about the rollers being gone. The guy there made it seem like they weren't going to be doing it much longer bec he said all the new cars don't really have that much emissions. But I doubt the state will give up that easy on a racket like that. It would be sweet if he was right tho...those places are a crock of **** anyhow..and no I have never seen a mirror leave the corner there as well. I've also been due for my test since sept 2009 and have yet to get a notice in the mail.....

It`s funny you say that about not getting your notice, I should have recieved a notice July 2009 and I just renewed my Registration and it went through with no problems. Maybe I should just wait and see how long it takes to get a test notice.

I took my parents 1996 Chevy truck in a couple of weeks ago at the Erdman Ave. Station and they used the mirror. If the lazy bastards there use it, it's a good bet they are doing it everywhere.

When I took my 2005 truck there two months ago all they did was check the gas cap and plug in to the OBD. The mirrors must be new.

My car is lowered so hopefully that'll impair what they can see w/ the mirrors.

I`m lowered to, but they were sticking that mirror under the car pretty deep and that was just for a 2000 Impala. I would imagine that my Camaro would draw a little more attention..

Like I said, next week I will take my Subaru to Bel Air and see if they do the mirror stuff... I hope not.

My cars coming up for inspection. Last time it was checked they used the mirrors and still passed it anyway with headers and a cam. Wouldnt be too worried about it...
