Default What part is this?

I was under the car yesterday doing some work on the back breaks and look up and notice this has a huge crack in it. not good. I was searching online and trying to find the name of it, but i never did. The car will be parked til i get a replacement as it deals with the front wheel and suspension.

if you could give me the name of the part id appreciate it.

You have poly bushing in there don't you? The poly bushings in that locating seem to stress the metal in the front lower A-arms.
You'll need to replace the A-arm, I would replace the passenger-side one also since the A-arm probably has stress fractures on it to!

IMO, don't put any poly bushing back in that location on your replacement A-arms.

Hello
Like mentioned above it is your lower front A Arm. And it looks like the rust was really bad and just having the suspension travel broke it. You could always look into upgrading to a aftermarket set up. Below is a link to show you what all we have to offer.

http://www.umiperformance.com/catalo...mspthnaer4ma67

Hope that helps!
Thanks

That is a tremendous help. All the auto stores i called said they cant get it. to call the "stealership" so i am gonna give them a call today and see what their price is. But ill probably just spend the 378.00 and go ahead and upgrade. That is both driver and passenger side for 378.00. Correct?

Yes $378 is for the set and they come fully assembled with new ball joints, ready to install.

Your other option if you were looking to save money is a junk yard. All A-Arms from 93-02 V6 and V8 models are all the same.

Hope that helps!

Uh, Ryan - I think you mean a "salvage" yard. I'm just saying.

Ugh, the political correctness... Just messing with you, jbuhr.

I used to practically live in junk/salvage yards when I was building my truck quite a few years ago. You can find some awesome stuff there. Around my area F-Bodys in the junk yards are few and far between, though. You're probably better off with going aftermarket. I personally prefer BMR parts, but I hear UMI is decent, too.

Yeah, Ebay's an option also for a used factory set, but there's no guarantee you won't get parts all most as rusty.

There is a pull apart salvage here in Tulsa. I know they have 3 v6 Camaros there. If you are looking for something cheap, I can pull and ship it for around $50 lemme know if you are interested.
