You could also use a razor blade to get the numbers off intially. Also, windex gets off the chalk.

NO RAZOR BLADE!!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> One small speck of anything and the glass will be scratched!

Try "Bar Keepers Freind" it is a powder and is supposed to be great for cleaning glass. I beleive you mix it with some water and wa la!

I hear you Xsta Z, and you may be right. I've never had a problem with the blade, but it's probably not the best advise for some people <img border="0" alt="[chug]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_chug.gif" />

I would recommend some rubbing alcohol (really good at getting sap off, motor trend) and I personally have always used a razor on all glass without any problems at all, never heard of any problems before(scrape with a HUGE angle).

Start using greddex<sp>. Their product removes easily with a dry towel.

I tried this after leaving the numbers on for 3 months! (dont ask why i left them for so long)..

I didnt want to use razor blades so I tried windex and newspaper.. it took it right off!

some tiny spots stayed on so I did repeated the same process with a little force and it came right off.. (like one of those magic commercials on TV)

I know ill be doing the same thing again next for sure. You should try that. Its for free (basically).

Glass today is nothing like way back when, it is amazing how easy it is the scratch glass now.

Default How do I get the drag racing #'s outline off the windshield?

I left the numbers on the car for about a week, then washed them off and now whenever I go out to the car in the morning I can see the numbers and whenever it gets wet they are very visible. I need to get these off before I go to the dealership <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

very fine steel wool (dry. do not wet anything). Or maybe some alcohol/gasoline. I generally use steel wool on my car to get everything off.

Buy dial-x from your local hot rod store. or bingo markers. dont leave anything and wipe right off. if it sprinkles on it will be gone.

simple green works great, gets it all off, then just go back with a clean paper towel that is wet & get the smear marks off. easy as can be, i tried it by chance after the #'s were on the window for about 2 weeks & it took it right off.

I don't know if this is good or bad, but I used an old clay bar to pick up the stubborn remainders that windex and elbow grease didn't get or wouldn't get. Wished I had thought to do that sooner.
