So i'm looking at this intake I want to buy but i never hear anything from it. Is this intake like the bbk, and also will it bring up my hp much? any advice appreciated.

metal intakes have problems with heat transfer, ls6 is composite so heat wont transfer as bad

Somewhere on here is a thread where someone did a dyno test. I can say for sure but I thought the ls6 either flowed the same or out flowed it. The weind is a nice intake but I think for the price ur better off with a ls6.

I was looking at this intake for 310 buck and comes with most of the stuff to install. this that a good deal?

According to this its a good deal cuz arent the LS6 intakes giong for around $300 anyways?

I have used both. By far, the weiand looks better (IMO) if you like the aftermarket look under the hood, but there can be some fitment issues. To start with, the weiand will not fit over an LS6 valley cover with the new PCV provisions. And, the rear and side intake vacuum connections are brass barbed connection which are difficult to connect and impossible to disconnect, if you ever have to remove the intake. Also, you will have to install low profile valley cover bolts to assist with fitment of a weiand intake. Just search ebay for "valley cover bolts".

Is the intake you're looking at new or used? I had corrision issues my first go around. I have since had it blasted and clearcoated and plan to reinstall it this weekend. I highly recommend this to keep it looking nice.

why am I not surprised to come in here and see people claiming heat soak and less hp than the almighty LS6...?

I'm not too familiar with the Lingenfelter, but I do have the BBK... I can give you a lot of information on that if you'd like.

I wouldn't be so quick to believe in the heat soak theory, and the LS6 making more power. I've seen dyno's of just the opposite so...

heat soak is an old wives tail, just like back pressure. its fabricated from ignorance in the attempt to explain the unknown. and, this being a big forum as it is misinformation gets spread rapidly.

and to clear up the confusion heatsoak DOES exist, but usually on cars with the old iron intakes, also they would have to be running pretty damn hot to make a real loss in power. aluminum dissipates heat much faster than iron...hence why back in the 60's and 70's racers figured out that aluminum intakes were all around better than iron(duh) and to this day there isn't a thing wrong with an aluminum intake. so go look under the hood of pretty much any car that runs in an NHRA class and see what material their intakes are made of. i'll wiat...

I live in Arizona and I don't see heat soak, sorry think it's a myth. Or at least has minimal effect.

I have a thread hidden on here somewhere about things I learned, I can't remember if I had it ported or it came ported, but it wasn't too bad to install. Expect your hands to get cut up a little, buy an oil pressure sensor and socket, just in case and return it if you don't break it. There are some people on hear that say they can do it in an hour. My first and only time was on and off 8 hours or more...

There is also a thread on hear that compares a ported weiand and an LS6, that is why I went with the weiand.

Also get the Felpro gaskets for it SO it WILL SAVE YOU....

Nope, some people say you have to grind the valley cover bolts but I did not have to.
