Default T56 clearance?

So I'm installing a t56 magnum in a 1970 chevelle. I am fabricating the sheet metal for the transmission tunnel and I’ve come up with some pretty close spots only around the shifter housing. The trans can move up or down a mile, but the side to side clearance is a half inch at most. How much side to side movement can I expect to see under hard acceleration, cornering, rough roads, etc. I don’t see it moving too much from side to side, though the flex from the torque should slightly rotate the trans clockwise (sitting in drivers seat) bringing the left rear up, and down on the right rear of the trans…Is ½ inch enough clearance from the trans tunnel to the t56 shifter housing?? Thanks
