Default Black Trans Am HVAC/Light *****

I considered looking into getting the Camaro controls, but I like the shape and feel of the Firebird controls so much better. I used clear tape to cover the white parts and an X-Acto knife to cut the tape to only cover the white/transparent section. I then used a vinyl dye to paint them black. The texture is unchanged. The feel of the **** is unchanged, and the transparent part still shines through perfectly. I think I am going too far with this "rebuild" of my interior, but this sure worked out well!

Sorry for the poor picture quality. They look OEM in person, but the iPhone doesn't take great pictures.

Looks good. I switched my ***** to Camaro ones last summer, but I thought about painting my stock Firebird ones black before doing so. Nice job.

not bad, but what I plan on doing is to buy those MBA aluminum pieces and have them powdercoated matte black =]

That will look damned good. I will consider it down the road. For now though, the $6 and 30 minutes of work, I'll call it good.

Yeah, it is a high gloss. I am regretting the amount of gloss a little, but it might look good with "our" black gauges. Otherwise, I might go with a lesser gloss finish. I'll shoot you a PM with pics when done, but like I told ya, could be months. Or when the gauges come in, I'll see if I can do a mockup to show how they match.

An update...of sorts.

Got my 6LE gauges. My entire dash is out now, so no real update, but here is the mock-up:

Ouch, but on the plus side, they really look awesome in person and feel stock. On the lights, I have no clue as of yet. I am converting to blue, but I haven't been able to look into it further than that. Way too much going on now that finals are a week away. Sorry man, I'm still wondering too!

Thanks Sean. I'll try to post the pic in a different way. Here is hoping this works - if not, I'll send it in an email:
