Default need new tires.....

on my Camaro I have:

- take off Z06 rims and tires
- 264/40 17 front
- 295/35 18 rear
- Goodyear F1 Supercars

One of the fronts and both of the rears are shot so its time to buy new tires. The F1s are $$$$$ and I would like to find something that would fit my needs a little better.

1) needs to be able to last for a good 20K+ miles (no super soft compound)

2) needs to handle good (not talking compitition Auto-X here....just a really good daily drive that gets pushed now and again on back roads)

3) snow/rain/off road are not a consideration

4) won't cost $$$$$

I was looking at doing:

Front

A: Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 (WR rated)
B: Pirelli PZero Rosso (YR rated)
C: Michelin Pilot Sport (ZR rated)

Rear

A: Kumho ECSTA MX (YR rated)
B: Pirelli PZero Rosso (YR rated)
C: Michelin Pilot Sport (ZR rated)

oh...one other question. I noticed Hoosier makes Z rated road racing slicks. Any idea how many miles a person could get out of these daily driving if they don't roast them "too much"

I would say go with the Kuhmo 712s up front and the Kuhmo MX's in the rear. Kuhmos are a good tire at a great price.

get BFG G-Force KD's they out perform ALL of the tires above even the pilot sports. they are a bit more pricey though, around the same as the pilot sports, but are well worth it. i haven't found a better handling daily driver tire yet and all i do is tires. if you're more on the budget side then the kumho MX's or G-Force KDW's might be a better choice.

thanks Chris.....I'm on a budget (saving to rebuild the motor) so if I can get away with the Kumhos then I'll run them for a while.....but I will keep those BFGs in mind for future.
