A while back i saw a post where a guy got a daily driver I think for his wife, it was a black granprix I think, and the paint was beat pretty bad lol. He detailed the hell out of the exterior with something.

What ever he did made it look awesome, and a friend of mine wants to do the same with his black ss. Any one rememberthat post and or what he used? I've searched like hell, and know about clay bar and all that, but he used some other method, figured I would go halves on my friend with this stuff, and detail my z28 as well.

In the post, this guy made that car look like new allmost.

Probably a cutting compound. M105 is my favorite. That with a high-speed can work wonders. I've gotten some pretty nasty stuff out with that and a D/A myself. No "wash" is gonna magically make mistreated paint look good.

Thats the thread! Yeah, that detail was absolutely amazing, I looked all over in the thread.... Didnt see any indication how much it cost the guy, but damn worth it.

OP posted this:

"For those that are asking, I did not do the detail myself, the gentleman who started that thread did it. He owns a local detail company called Envious Detailing (http://www.enviousautodetailing.com/). As for the products, I have no idea, he brought all of his own stuff.

His details start at around $125 or so, but a 3 step like that will typically run in the $500 range. He and I negotiated a price based on cutting certain things out etc. that would help to shave a bit off of that. It was far and away the best money I have ever spent on a vehicle!"
