Exclamation cam help please

yes i have a 1998 trans am with the ls1 in it and the 6-speed trans well i went out and bought a erson cam and told the man i wanted the car to have a very hard lope to it and he told me that if i wanted the car to lope i would have to have the car tuned after i install the cam is this true ?

The short answer is yes. Really any cam bigger than an LS6 cam needs a tune. Small 220's cams will run OK most of the time but to optimize it a tune is needed. You really should do headers/Y/catback before a cam also to get the full benefit of the cam..... And since you are interested in the sound a full exhaust will add a lot to sound quality also......
