Default snapped header bolt

Just wanted to know, how many of you guys have snapped a header bolt on removal or install? What you did to prevent bolts for breaking? I'm about to do a header install and getting kind of scared after removing my Y pipe, any response is welcome.

I ordered a set of hedman headers with egr and air, loudmouth muffler, and slp header install kit. I will check the bolts for length before I put the headers on after reading your post.

I broke one a few days trying to install mine . I'm going to see if it leaks with it in first and worry about it later because I can't get a tool small enough to remove it right now . Good luck use a lot of wd40 .

I'm going to soak it with pb blaster over night. Then try to be at the shop by about 9:15 so I can spray it down and let it soak before I get it on the lift.

That's a good idea I broke mine on install though so be careful when putting them in .... If any feel wrong going in take them out and start over .

thanks guys, lots of good advice, I am alot more confident in doing this swap now. I almost feel like I should have got soild motor mount also, but I will do that when I do a head and cam swap next year.
