theres like a 200lb weight difference and 20hp difference around the same power/weight....camaros best times in the magazines are better than the stangs, although barely but it does mph higher, which is indicitive of the faster car....Mustang did it right this time dont get me wrong there close stock with the advantage to the ls3 when rolling...but after u mod them the ls3 will def seperate itsself

Ricer math time. Based on the curb weights, power figures, and gearing, the Mustang will be able to take the Camaro out of the hole and should be able to hold that lead. This isn't 1994 with a 200HP GT vs a 280HP Z/28.

The new Mustang is a quick car and 412 out of only 5 liters is impressive. But I agree that once modding begins the LS3 is probably going to make more power, mod for mod. The 5.0 doesn't have to be out yet to see it how it responds. The simple fact of the 1.2 liters of displacement is going to be hard to make up for mod for mod. That being said the new 5.0 is going to be a quick car and be fast at the strip due to the SRA and less weight. Ford definitely made things interesting. I wonder what GM's response will be.

I'm excited about the 5.0, anyone would be crazy not to be. LS3's will be a bit easier to (N/A) mod but hell, a KB on a 5.0 is going to be damn nasty since it's lighter than the Camaro and dare I say it but the Mustang looks better to me, not to mention the interior is amazing...and it now has an M6.....about time they got thier **** together.

that vid has the lok and feel of the driver being the difference and not the car. That Camaro left the line like a V6.. On both runs.. Probably an L99 untuned. Bet that Stang runs a 13.0@108 bone stock?

YEA B.S vid. I got excited when I seen the title and than the camaro was barely movin lol. That video doesn't tell us anything, I bet they will be close in an actual race wher both cars are going. I do like the new mustangs. They atleast don't make the mustang like 4000 pounds!!!

When are they going to release the new stang to buy? My buddy has a 09gt 5sp with bolt ons and we race just about every morning just for the heck of it. Needless to say I put several cars on him. He's wanting a 2011 now so he can return the favor.

saw this on another forum an someone said the same thing a KB on the 5.0 is gonna be nasty thought from the following replies to that they said the new 5.0 cant handle much boost before blowing up trannys an high compression problems.

It's dynoed around 380rwhp twice so it's underrated just like the Terminator. Based on those dyno numbers it's around 450 at the fly. And I believe Motor Trend took it down the quarter at 12.8 @111mph. It'll be interesting when the good drivers get behind the wheel.
