is it wise to remove the EGR system? and how do you do it?
Im putting a 98 LS1 into a 69 chevelle, and was wondering what to do with the EGR system.
will this cause me any problems? and what all do i need to do?
i figured just weld up the holes on the manifolds where the EGR tubes went, but i didnt know what to do with the rest of the stuff.
there is a hose coming from the very back of the intake, do i just cap that off or what?
I would appreciate any help!

Launching!
The egr system was designed by the oems for two purposes. It reduces nox a harmful greenhouse gas, and also reduces detonation by cooling intake air temperature thus further reducing combustion chamber temps. You can in many in cases do without if you have a tuner modify the base program to compensate for no egr.
