Default locking out the o2 sensors

When i got the car dynoed my o2 sensors where bad. He tuned the car and said he locked out the o2 sensors for now so i could buy new ones. How does this work, what does the car run off to say what air fuel it needs , i thought out side temps would be a problem with this. I'am still not running any but the car seems to have lost some power since its warmer out now.

should i get o2 sensors asap or will i be ok for now

by the way this is in my mustang swap and i only run 2 o2 sensors so i now have none

Default

Its called open loop. This means the computer will look at the tables it needs and add the fuel the table says period. There is no more correction incase your engine is running rich or lean.
