Default stupid question...stock shifter plaque

I have a stupid question... but does the stock shifter plaque above the shifter (on 6 speeds of course)...come off or is it part of the whole mold of the middle console?.... i dont wanna just start trying to tear it off if it doesnt come off... help appreciated

Just went and looked at mine. Doesn't look like it comes off. If you take the shifter boot off, it looks like you could at least feel underneath to see. I was also messing the the "cubby", it has two hooks on the top, but didn't want to pop out??

No, the shape is molded into the console & the lettering is screen printed on.

I put that plaque over my stock one and it doesn't look bad. But If I could go back I would grind it down first
