Default I am prototyping a 4" WS6 hood right now FYI

I know a few folks were interested in a 4" WS6 hood, well that dream is getting close to becoming reality.

I am working with www.vfnfiberglass.com on a 4" WS6 style hood, and I will be going there in the next couple of days for Phase II... We will be looking to see how the lines of the prototype look actually bolted on a car... They are concerned with having the hood sweep back in a gradual rise and having the side lines complement the fender lines. Hood will be available as a bolton and a pinon.

Also coming out with a bolton and pinon SS hood right after that.

If the hood looks good I'll ask them to snap a pic and we will post it.

Will it look like the LT1 4" WS6 hood?

It will have the factory looking 1998+ WS6 nostrills, but taper up higher and smoother in the rear to form a cowl hood. Similar to the hood shown here on Mike Yedgarian's 7-second drag car.

<img src="http://www.dragracecanada.com/media/teamprofiles/photos/003.jpg" alt=" - " />

Its a badass hood, I just hope that if anyone one that their car can back up its MEAN looks (no 4" cowl, 14-second Mustang syndrome please)

Something like that, I am very familiar with that hood in the pic (Joe Van Overbeek Racecar Bodies makes that one), but that one is high in the middle to accomodate tunnel ram carb setups since that car pictured is a carbed BBC.

Our hood will have the valley in the middle.

Stock is like 2" to 2.5" at it's highest point.

Tony, do you or anyone else have any higher res, bigger pics of Yedgarians car launching like in the bottom pic that I can put on my computer as background? Would be great if some does.

Back to the subject at hand...I think this hook is going to look killer. Can't wait to see the pics of it.

I like the idea. I wonder if a possible Raptor hood with demensions like that would be possible? Kinda like the SLP hood but w/out the big square *** nostrils.

it would be cool if someone would make a "high rise" ss hood too...like a 4" scoop...is that in the works to or no?(please say yes). i think a cowl "stock lookin" ws6 hood will look freekin awsome... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> so wouldnt a high rise ss hood though <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I've seen pics of the prototype (not installed on a car) and it looks awesome! John should have some photos by this evening....

I will see if I can get permission to show the pics of the hood in primer.

We are not going to mount it on my car the prototype is too fragile it's going into production.

We are using OEM grills for it. Kicked around bigger grills but asked a bunch of folks and the OEM style openings were more popular than even the SLP hood openings.

I can inquire about an SS hood with a 3-4" scoop if you look in the pics I have you can see the SS hood that we have from a wreck.

The new grill uses OEM grills and is still airbox friendly. It would have been possible to go with bigger grill openings but the bigger they went the more mixed the reactions.

PSJ, I would SERIOUSLY buy a C5 hood that had these WS6 Ram Air snouts on it in a 3" height. Do you think they could do this?
