Default New guy from Mustang GT to 98 LS1 Camaro :)

Alright guys so i finally got my Ls1 camaro i couldn't be happier. Its a 1998 model. I traded a pretty beefed up mustang for it but im never looking back. So far this is what it has. Its also an AUTO

K & N filter
MSD plug wires
hp tuned
pace setter long tubes
x pipe
dynomax race bullets w/ turndowns
slp lid
electric fans
a/c delete
black zr1 wheels with deep dish on back with 315 35 17 drag radials
(also have 4.10 gears, and a 100 shot nitrous wet kit not installed)

a few other visual upgrades.

So what should my first step be guys and i love owning an LS1

Wow, nice looking ride!

Welcome to the LS1 world, you're going to love it!

Seems like the car has a pretty good mod list so far. I'd reconsidere the 4.10's though, that might be too much for an auto. Generally it seems like 3.73's are the way to go with an auto. And of course a higher stall converter.

4.10 would be to much IMO

3.73s would be better IMO since its an auto like mentioned above

You know i was told the same thing about getting 373's. well compared to my mustang its alot different. My mustang pulled really hard down low and kinda died out up top and it was a 5spd. where the LS1 seems to pull so damn hard from mid range to upper rpms. My mustang went 13.58 in the 1/4 on nittos and it ran 12.12 on a 125 shot so im curioius as to what this camaro will run. You guys got any idea how much power the 98 ls1 puts down with the mods on the car? any idea on track times?

welcome, thats a sharp car
As long as your not at a stupid high elevation or horrible D/A it should go any where from 12.8-13.0 at 108-111 trap ill guess on DR's

mid 11s with gears, stall and hooking up that 100 shot. Maybe even better then that, look at the SS in my sig and the time I went on 100 shot with a 1.75 60'. The autos have the potential to throw down some fast E.Ts. My car was tuned for 150 shot and I swear with a 1.6 60' and 150 shot i could have been knocking on the door of 10s.

Thats stock 10 bolt with gears, stock manifolds, untouched heads, stock cam, did have an LS6 intake then but wasnt retuned for it.

FYI stall adn 4.10s in an auto=worse city gas mileage ever if its your daily, id go with 3.73s.

I still have my stang and there is a big difference between the two. Not BAD just diff. The Stang sounds diff. to. The LS1 is another animal. That was my first thought when I got out of my Stang and climbed into my TA!! ANIMAL :>)
Enjoy your LS1 but don't be a stang hater:>

A mustang pulled beside me today and he looked over and smiled and just turned the other way. Kinda made me laugh inside haha.
