Default Exhaust question

What would be a good exhaust setup for a 05' CTS-V that would let me hear my music but also let those idiot kids with there crapped out mustangs know I'm passing them!

Cut the stock mufflers off and replace them with Magnaflow mufflers. Mellow deep sound and not too loud. If you want more noise cut the resonator out and replace it with an x-pipe.

I say muffler delete. With stock cats and resonator, its not too wild but sounds good and its cheap.

Just pick up a used corsa catback. has a sweet mellow sound, but sounds great at WOT. That is just my opinion though

If your looking to spend a little more, Corsa is an excellent choice... but pricey...

I'm a bit partial, but I opted for the muffler delete and 4" tips. Fairly quiet inside, no drone, but sounds mean on the outside. Total cost was around 200 including tips.

I currently have a mag catback but I'm strongly considering doing a muffler delete myself. Sounds good!!

Muffler delete with X-pipe, 4 inch tips, and stock cats! FTW! sounds so damn good. Total cost was $175. try the muffler delete first, it sounds good but if you still want a lil more then get an x pipe! good luck

I agree 100% with the muffler delete option.

I just purchased an 05 V and did this mod the second day I had the car. It now sounds awesome in town, but is still hardly noticable while cruising at highway speeds.

It is the way to go....and the price is right!

What are you guys using for the muffler delete? Just taking it to a shop?

I can do all the work myself except bend the pipe, I didn't see any options out there to purchase for our cars?

I don't feel like doing the "gut" the stock muffler option.

Thanks,
Chris

Post a clip!!! I want mine louder and i have stock manifolds and cats with the mag catback that has an X instead of resonator. Basically the only difference between you and I is the mufflers and i've been considering cutting them out and going with something louder but i wanna hear yours!!! Curious what no muffs with this setup would sound like!!

Then i can keep my cats until i get a tune...

Had my V up on the lift for the first time.

The muffler is gone, replaced by 2 straight pipes.
The resonators have been replace with what appear to be series 40 Flowmasters.

Sound is deep and throaty. The car sounds like it has been smoking cheap cigars and drinking Old GranDad.

It does have a noticeable "droan" at 1500-2100 RPM. Its not irritating ... yet. Would an "X" eliminate or enhance the droan?

I currently have the muffler delete with 4" tips. Cost was $160 and $140 of that was for the tips! I disagree with zero drone though, you will get some below 2k rpm. BTW I will have B&B from the headers back next weekend though!

Damn, its been years since I heard that:

I like to play good music and have a good time
I love to hear old trains rolling down the line
I am into happy and I don't like sad
And I like to have women I never had

I take a little smoke and a lotta wine
I get high on all old friends of mine
I like the sweet young things and OLD GRANDAD
And I like to have women I've never had

I like to ride my hoses and shoot my gun
You know a cowboys work is just never done
Well I am in to bacics and I don't like sad
And I like to have women I never had

Hey, I don't mean to ever do nobody no wrong
I was just born the son of a singing song
I do things to make people mad
And I like women I never had

Im looking to upgrade to a better catback, Im trying to figure out how much work is involed in making the B&B fit the kooks.
