i was wondering if there was any other trans that would bolt up to a 1998 ls1 right now the car has a 6-speed and the bell housing has several holes in it i put a new clutch in the car about 3k ago and now the bell housing has holes in it and i removed the starter and the end of the starter was shattered. i was wondering what could cause this? and the trans fitment?

why dont you by a scatter shield. It is a steel bellhousing instead of the weak aluminum bellhousing. Hard to put a hole through 1/4 inch steel
