Default Air Intake Size

I'm swapping a 5.3l into a 99 Grand Cherokee. Just wondering what is the best size intake tubing to use? Stupid question really but...

I have a bunch of 3" laying around and maf adaptors.

3.5" is the most common and fits the Fbody MAF

The TB is 4" and the truck 85mm 5 wire MAF is pretty close to the same

Down side is 4" is flipping huge and hard to route. Save the 3" tubing for your exhaust

I have a 2000 5.3l MAF, I have adapters to reduce it to 3" and the 3" is aluminum so I can't use it on exhaust. Will this make me loose power or chock? This is mostly a trail rig but see street use too.
