Nope those are just the hoses. If you want the factory cooler I'd try a junk yard or call SDPC for new one.

do yourself a favor and ditch the factory PS cooler, and get you a good air to fluid cooler. the factory unit is notorious for leaking PS fluid into the coolant and visa versa.

air to fluid...just like a tranny cooler, but its a PS cooler that can withstand a higher pressure of the powersteering.

Not every fbody came with that POS powersteering cooler. So while at the parts store just ask for the longer hose. They will have it listed.

I ditched my stock PS cooler years ago after it leaked into my coolant. Havent had a pump issue since either & my car is daily driven year round. Honeslty unless you autox your car you really dont "need" one.

the Z28's get along just fine without one, and as mentioned above, unless your doing some serious twisties you dont need one.

Yeah Im not thinking the PS coolers are really needed items on these cars. To bypass, would you just hook the two lines coming off the cooler together?

good advice here had the same thing happen to me! Ditch the stocker and just do without a cooler or if you feel you need one buy aftermarket cooler

Has anyone had a dealer fix this issue? Any idea roughly what it costs (breakdown for parts and labor)? My car is going in later today...just wondering how much of a bill to expect.

You cant miss it man, its the big piece of metal in the radiator hose. It'll have 2 lines connected to it comming from the power steering pump.

I didnt even use anything, I actually just removed one of the hoses & then connected the loose end of theone left to the nipple for the second hose. Once you get to lookin at it you'll see how easy it is to figure out.

Am I correct in saying that this part was only on some LS1 cars (i.e. SS) for a couple years? I spoke with the dealership...I asked to see if that's something they can just bypass (i.e. make it like a standard Z28). I don't see the point in paying $200 for a replacement power steering fluid cooler (that's the cost at the dealer) so it can leak down the line and cause the same issue all over again.

Dont waste your money replacing it, just go to the parts house & buy the solid 1-piece hose. they will have both parts listed in their computer.

And yes, it only came on certain models, not all LS1 cars.
