My parents say their Pinto was a great car for longevity too. I agree that the Prowler needed power, but I thought it turned heads for all of the right reasons. The SSR needs to be right next to it. What the Hell was GM thinking. "We have this great LS1 and this new LS6 is doing really well. Nah lets drop in the iron 5.3 liter. Eureka!!!"

To be fair they switched to the 6.0 for 2005.

Some of these cars weren't badly made, just not so great engineering that was swarmed upon by the media. (Pinto and Fiero) The fiero fires were only for the 84 year and just the 4cyl at that.

I agree that the Prowler looks fantastic, but a 5.9 magnum would have been a much better idea if it had been made to work. Too bad it came a few years before the return of hemi....

Mmmmmm, a 6.1 Hemi Prowler. I'll take 2.

Wow i can't believe they put the Prowler on that list. I used to worship those cars. Just because a car isn't fast doesn't mean it's a worthless pile of shit. Beauty is subjective, but I really don't know how anyone could call it ugly.

Fiero's a mixed bag, I can't defend the people who buy them, and the interiors looked like every piece was sourced from a different south pacific sweatshop, but they were very popular. They turned a profit every single year. The fire thing has forever blacklisted them but I don't really think they deserved that either. I blame the idiots who buy them for not maintaining them.

I'll go along with the others.

A friend of mine has 3 Fiero's and while the interior is hideous, I love the outside looks. Plus he's doing the good old SC 3800 swap although he's so hung up on the L32 when the L67 would be easier....:bang:

Jesus there's a dumbass kid around here doing the same thing. I think he'll get to the drive by wire system and just give up.

i love the prowlers, that was a really good move on there part to try to bring back oldschool street rods IMO, the factory included bumper delete kit was awesome..6.1 hemi, with viper 6sp would be awesome..or a v10 prowler..prowler srt-8 and 10

exactly what I told him. I commend him for going for it, but he's only researched the swap, not the engines. He had an L26 Bonneville, but that's as far as he knows.

I told him to get an L67 w/ some 1.9 rockers and be done. That'll be more than enough for him.

if were still on worst built it would be a cavalier every single one including my sister in laws has some major bodywork issues so i guess they didn't take to minor dings from doors or things because they dent way to easy

As a Serbian, I have to say, the Yugo should be number one on that list.

If you could find thousands of Mercedes for 500 bucks they would end up looking like that too. The buyers/income bracket is to blame for that one. 2.2 and ecotecs will run forever.

maybe the newer ones..my 91, i punched the rear 1/4 pannel about 3 times ciz i get pissed off easy.and i end up doing damage to my hand instead of the car.. the 3.1's run strong to, enough power to spin the tires when you want but it doesnt torque steer you to hell

Agreed at some point the owner has to take some credit for their lack of care for a car.

As far as the Fiero goes I love those things. If I had money I'd totally do a LSX conversion in one. They were sweet cars.

I'll be the lone voice that says I hated Prowlers-one of the ugliest cars ever made, IMO; looked like a juke box on wheels, or something...

a little known fact is the pinto was originally designed to be the poster car for safety features. it was originally designed with a rubber bladder in the gas tank, ie: fuel cel, the very first airbags, safer bumpers, etc. when the ford brass saw how expensive it would be to make a car like that, they pulled the plug on the safety features and made it what it became.

I vote the Chevy Chevette for honorable mention. I've heard that those are pretty bad as well.
