Well pretty much what the title says. i want to put longtubes on but the crazy bracket is in the way according to SLP. im not too sure how much that bracket does in the way of frame support. im thinking of maybe getting a tubular crossmember and that should solve the problem.

im looking for somebody that has tried anything failures or successes welcome.

Removing the "X" brace will just make things a little
more loose feeling, no evident downside. I had to beat
it up for SLP Y, but had to remove it for long tubes.\

Do not even consider the SLP replacement for the "X",
the one I got was a spindly little weldment that did
not line up to all 4 mount holes, and you could flex it
by hand. Bad joke of a part.

Throw away the brace. I have the SLP's and don't recommend them, they hang low and I had to split the Y pipe and reweld it to keep it from banging the floor.

Jimmyblue, as far as i know that part has been discontinued. i have been wanting SLP for a while and so far in just about every forum ive been too they havent been worth the trouble... So what is?

Thanks for your input 2001WS6 im looking in a different direction now.

I have the American Racing headers on mine, it is lowered, and I did away with the factory brace. no problems whatsoever.

That x-shaped piece? I didn't realize it was just on verts. Mine was removed when I had my Hooker catback installed. I haven't noticed a difference. I assumed it was only there to protect the exhaust and that ll the cars had them.
