Default I need a tenth

I'm running the car in the 11.5 Outlaw. Last year I was able to run 11.6x in the heat and humidity.

End of last year, I took off the front sway bar and ran 11.36 on a cool dry day.

I picked up some Bogart skinnies. Do I need to do more? Maybe a ram air set up? Or maybe get the FAST intake I've been dreading lol.

Car has H/C, LS6 intake, A4, SS4000 stall, etc...

.

Weight removal is cheap. Have you already done all the easy steps??

Well I don't use the AIR pump or ABS, so I can remove those. But I def wanna keep the AC and the bumper support.

drag brakes should do it but they are kinda expensive, but prolly cheaper than a fast+tune. brakes might even give better results than a fast. moly suspension helps drop weight too. But remember rotating weight gives like 3 or 4 times better gains that stationary weight.

You can always try farting as you cross the line! lol. But on a serious note I would take out all the unessasary items you can live without and save you some weight.

I was thinking more of unbolting a seat or removing all the un-necessary equipment and brackets,
then eating beans 3 days in a row??
Cut outs are cheap, and might get you some ET over a full exhaust.

What were you running on the front before the Bogart skinnies?

I removed my a/c and front sway. It was 47lbs off the nose and I gained near 2 full tenths.

i say either take out weight, or get a ram air...i make an ac version that has gained 1.5mph on a Stock internal car over the free ram air mod...or if the ac is gone get an even bigger ram air for 2+mph gains...either way good luck man

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...sults-tom.html

check out post 119 for the ac version 2 top pics, and the non ac version bottom 2 pics...

A cut-out is worth a tenth by itself. Running drag radials will be worth about a tenth if you are not already running them. I would pull both front seats out and install a single race seat.

A few others if you haven't done them:

UD Pulley
Short belt (bypassing the PS pump)
Raising the shift points
Run VP MS109 oxygenated race fuel (it works well especially in humid air)
I have a 3" band clamp that allows me to drop the cat back in less than 2 minutes.

My son needed a tenth last year in our slow car for the 7.50 class 1/8 mile index race so I pulled the SS hood off and we picked up a little over a tenth. He went on to win the race. It looked like a$$ but it worked.

Running this fuel would allow more timing too right? Would the tune need to be changed as far as fueling goes?

I would put it on a dyno and check the tune with the VP MS109. It is oxygenated so it should run leaner and yes with the higher octane you will be able to safely run more timing.

What is your exhaust setup? Theres a lot of weight in having a catback.

LOL I'll try eating beans and farting.

The car already has a cutout and a nice Bassani catback. Cats are gutted. But I would love to go to a single exhaust with a light weight muffler.

The back seat and seatbelts are already out, but I will take out the passenger seat.

I was running the stock 16" fronts wheels/tires, so the Bogarts will take off some unsprung weight.

I'm thinking about getting a ram/cold air intake, but I want to get my new trani cooler situatated first.

I still cant bring myself to buying a FAST intake. Maybe someday if my money tree starts bearing fruit.

Ima remove the AIR pump and ABS.

I think I will be close to getting that tenth.

Thanks for the sugestions.

.

There is nothing wrong with doing all the free stuff 1st.
There is a lot of un-needed BS on these cars.
Pull off all the little crap you can 1st and see what happens.
Save the beans plan for when it's really hot out??

Good luck.

I gotta watch out I don't go faster than 11.5. That's how my season ended last year.

I was first on the track. Oct 31st, the last day NED was open. Air was very good. I was excited to put up a new PB. 1st pass, I didn't think I'd go as fast as I did, 11.36@120mph. They booted me. Season over!

I think what I'll do is launch real soft, then go hard and see what I trap at. If it's around, what, 118 mph? I be right at 11.5 with a decent launch.

you should pick up at least a tenth or better with the skinnies alone. it seems to me ,you are going to need a roll cage anyway cause you will be running a 10.99 index after the skinnies and ram air goes on if you should get one.

i'm very impressed with your car with the a/c still on the car and full weight , running very strong. my goals are 11.5's too with the a/c still on my car too.
