What displacement is a 383? Still small block or big? :pics:

displacement doesnt make it a small or big block. you can have a 500+ci LSX if you have the money, and its still a smallblock.

The blocks are physically different...the big blocks have a much bigger block to begin with.

You know what an LS motor looks like, heres a big block chevy

block is physically bigger than another from the same company. displacement has to do with bore & stroke. GM block to GM block, apples to apples comparison.
