Went one 10.99 @ 122.85 before getting kicked out. Car is ms3/125 shot, it needs to be on a dyno pretty bad tho. Only weight out of it is exhaust ends after the Y, spare tire and 15" wheels. Stock tranny, stock rearend.

Thanks. Theres more in it for sure. Shift points and keeping it out of OD right before the traps should help out.

Yes A4. Havent sprayed it since, got it on the dyno yesterday and it put down numbers lower than it did with bolt ons. Got to see whats up.

Did you run it at Kil-Kare? Nice times.

put a 150 in it off the line with a slick and do work!

Yes at kilkare. I want to get the power I have sorted out first. It went 120mph on the same size shot before the cam swap.

I want to spray off the line but with stock suspension and a not so great track it doesnt hook to well. Maybe if I get slicks it will hook.

congrats on the time.

i thought that stall would be to loose for spray but i see its working quite well for you...

It blows through a little bit I think. I am shifting at 6000 and I have to have a 6400 pill in the window switch for the nitrous to stay on.

Good video. Are you on stock suspension? Stock gear correct? If so, with more gear you should be a lot better of the line!

I have lca, otherwise stock suspension, stock gear also.

PT 4400 is to big to spray on. It will blow through the converter. I would also suggest ET Drags over the ET Streets.

TA1364
07-08-2010, 04:53 PM
It does blow through a little on spray. I went to ET drags and they are a ton better than ET streets. I did spray a 150 shot and ran 10.82 @ 126, 1.55 short time.

3600-3800 stall would be a good match I would think.

1.6 or even high 1.5 short time is kind of lazy for a 4400... You said you aren't spraying out of the hole, right?
Are you spinning at all before the 60'?

I know my 60s for this converter suck. I usually let it hit the tires on motor then spray, best I have done is 1.52

It goes 1.67 to 1.70 on motor. I really think something is wrong with the trans/converter it is just a turd leaving the line on motor. Feels almost like its not starting in first gear.

I know it means nothing because mine is a completely different setup.. But with less power I am cutting 1.50-1.52s in the heat.. Should be 1.4Xs now since I changed suspension up a bit.
I am running a PTC 4000. I have never been a huge fan of Yank. (Flame suit on) :D

It's not leaving hard because you are blowing through the converter. The hit of N20 is probably flashing the converter so high it's not usable or even damaged the converter.

OP, what were you cutting before you ever started spraying?

1.66-1.70 with bolt ons then after the cam swap I went a couple low 1.6s I sprayed it a few times last fall tho before I put a cam in it. This car has never had a good short time for the mods. I need a good 4000 nitrous converter.

I never really thought about the converter being hurt from blowing through it when I spray.

1.6-1.7 are crap from a 4400 stall. I would expect some 1.5's. I was pulling those high 1.6's with a 3500 TCI at full weight on 17" nitto drag radials & bolt-on's. There may be something wrong with the stall or tranny may be slipping.

I'm just trying to help you figure it out. You should be running a lot faster. I will leave you with a couple more examlpes.

My SS - 3800 TCI, bolt-on's, 125 NX shot, ET streets (6.9's in 1/8 mi. w/3500lb raceweight)
Friends WS6 - 3500 TCI, bolt-on's, 226 dur cam, 150 NX shot, ET streets (10.6's in 1/4 mi. w/stock weight)

1.6 is horrible for that converter. I would expect high high 1.4s-low 1.5s with that big of a converter. I personally don't care for Yank myself, I would look into PTC.

Of course after you find out if there is a problem with your trans or not.

The tranny has 99k with only a shift kit. Car made 488/480 on a 125 shot so I know the power is there. Easily over 500 when I sprayed a 150. When I get the transmission built I am going to switch converters. I've been thinking FTI?
