Question First time at tracks, street tires, drag radials help me a lot?

Mods are in sig but I have full interior car no weight loss stuff but I ran a 13.05@111.56 with a 2.32 60ft and 8.9 1/8th mile. I am dropping the clutch at about 2200-2300 and spinning a decent amount in 1st until I get the speed up it stops but second it spins worse and starts fishtailing the whole gear like I'm on ice and then a slight little spin in 3rd too. Tires are 285/40/17 Nitto 555R's aired down to 20psi and what would be a better tire to fit the stock ZR1 17x9? and how much do you think I could drop with a better tires? I also have sub frame connectors, lower control arms, and panhard bar. Race weight is about 3700 I am guessing being it's stock weight wise and I am 210 pounds.

The 275/40/17's? looking at my times compared to my setup how much room do you think there is to drop with a better tire and more experience once I get the spinning under control? half second feasable?

id say if u get MT you should get into the 12s pretty easy because u must be doing alot of spinning, just need to work on getting those 60 # down

It may hook also and rip your rear out with MT also so keep that in mind as well

The Mt im getting are the 255/50/16 just because i have a set of 16 laying around

I only have one set of rims so it will probably be the 275/40/17 if I go this route, but maybe it's not so bad if I'm spinning so I don't need a rear end

I think you need a little more traction LOL . Tires and some suspension will be a big help . Hell , my stock engine A4 with 373s will put a hurting on you in the 1/8 . If you get some good tires at least you can come out easy and then wack the throttle to help minimize your chances of breaking your stock 10 bolt .Thats a lot of horses ! You should be 12.0's not 13.0's

My god is that slow. I ran 12.4 @ 114 on street tires, M6, with a passenger, cam only putting down 380whp, no weight reduction.

I agree , SHOULD be low 11's high 10's .It only ran at 111 mph .That dosent sound like a 11sec ride too me . Not yet at least .Im sure once its all set up with a good rear and some traction ,that thing will go 10s or low 11's !

hrmmmm yea that trap speeed seeeems kinda low. Throw some tires on and get that 60' fooot down. With all those power mods you should have plenty for 11's. Grab a rear, tires, and launch the **** out of her.

Yeah tires are a must! A guy at that track that day with an SS with a lid, headers, ORY, and catback that put down 342rwhp ran 12.8@108 with Nittro 555R drag radials. Same track same day and all he got was a little chirp in 1st gear then never spun a bit after .......Compaing both 275/40/17's are the MT's that much better than the Nitto 555R drag radials?
