Post 1-2 T56 billet key springs

Anyone have the springs for billet keys for a stock F-body synchro?

Flat or round wire? What do the ends look like and what's the distance between ends?

I have some billet keys but not sure if I have the right springs.

thanks

Round wire. The ones from TGB are green. Curled out from the ends. When installed, they just clear the key edges.

Who has modded the C5 billet 1-2 keys to work in the F-body 1-2 synchro?
I ground the 2 bumps (and a tiny bit more) off the inside hub-side face of each key. Nothing else.

Assembling an F-body box; no 1-2.

Does anything need done to the slider side bump?
How about at the slider side shoulders? That seems the biggest different from the general shape of a stock stamped F-body 1-2 key.

85MikeTPI - Have you used these springs before? I finally upgraded to the billet keys this time around and used the same kit you had above. It seemed the the springs were a little long and did not sit firmly against the middle key. It may not be a problem when the blocker rings are installed. Just wondering.

TIA

I've used them.. Ground down the 2 end lips that engage the blocker rings.

I didn't have to touch the centering bump. Everything was test fit before assembly.

I just got the billet keys and springs. The spring ends (hooks) do not sit like yours do in this pic. Mine are longer, therefor the one end hooks onto the billet key and the other end (hook) falls in between the other 2 keys. Is this correct?

Also, are the springs supposed to be installed as a mirror image or should they be staggered?

Do your billet keys have a hole drilled in them to hook the spring into? If not, the spring should overlap the keys like shown.

You should stagger the springs on both sides of the synchro, so the spring gaps should not be between the same two keys.

No hole drilled in them but my spring does not hook onto 2 of the billet keys like shown in the pic. It only hooks onto 1 of them and it overlaps the other two keys. The billet keys and green springs look exactly like the ones pictured but my springs seems to be
