Default Stainless works vs Kooks...

curious to learn what everyone thinks about the SW headers...i currently have a corsa catback and want to get headers... (had kooks ordered but that fell thru) now im a little interested in the SW lt's. i know they dont have a set of connectors to go to corsa so i'd have to have that made but no biggie..

thanks for any and all comments!

I looked into stainless works also before I ordered the Kooks and decided that Kooks was more proven on just about every LSX car as far as fitment was concerned. Never heard any issues with SW but didnt have a lot of info to go on.

I still cant believe that happened Im pissed for you adn I thought I had it bad when i heard there was just a delay. Maryland speed had a set of kooks 1 7/8 in stock for like 900 when i called last week. They didnt have connectors but you may be able to get the, from someone else or wait for them to finish them at Kooks.

Stainless works headers were popular while back i guess. not many people have gone with them lately... I have looked pretty far back and haven't heard about any fitment issues.. other then in that link about heat on all headers

to my knowledge... Stainless wks doesn't offer separate Catted connection pipes or off road pipes for any of the other aftermarket exhausts.. So fab work will be required for your corsa. You going with cats or off roads????

MY used set of headers looked new with 8k on them... All the welds look solid, flanges flat according to my coffee table.. They dont look like kooks... No wicked bend in the middle of the driver side runnners...so i guess they are not true equal length headers.. whatever the 3in exhaust will make up for that...

the pfd that sold me

Does SW make 1 7/8 headers? that would be a deal breaker for me. If you plan to mod at all in the future id stick with 1 7/8.

im pretty sure kooks is the only company that make s 1-7/8... Do you really gain that much with 1-7/8 vs 1-3/4 on a roots Supercharged LSx???

The more you do the more you gain and i dont see any downfalls going with the 1 7/8 from the get go anyways. Id rather spend that much cash once just in case you need it down the road.

And if you ask ANYONE in the lsx world whether you should go with 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 when your forced induction they will all say 1 7/8.

agreed..I do plan on modding more. if i was buying new, hell yeah 1-7/8 allday but i got mine used in a smokin deal for a full 3in exhaust & 1-3/4 headers.. i don't need to have any dyno bragging right.. just a badass cadi

i asked before i

+1 and i just installed them yesterday, let me tell you that even without a tune the car pulls sooo much better. i regret being a tightass on money for so long. Paschal hooked me up and i went with 1 7/8 and catted connectors.
