Default Well, it finally happened....

Here is the end result of what lots of powa and a hard launch I did last friday at Firebird raceway in Phoenix AZ...

I would buy a set of gforce axles if I knew this wasnt going to happen again, but gforce just sells the axles. Looks like Im going to need stronger CV joints, as the CV joint broke, not the axle.

I was going to go for 11s on 245/45/18 all season street tires and increased my nitrous shot from 100 up to 150 hp shot. I guess I found the axle's limit. Haaa.

My best time 4 weeks ago was a 12.2@124.6 mph with a 2.2 60ft, with the 100 shot

Headed back to the track last friday with the 150 shot. Right before I snapped the CV joint, I nailed a 1.98 60ft!!!!!!!! It would have easily gone mid 11s if the axle wouldnt have given in. Especially with the extra 50hp from the nitrous. Oh well. Maybe next time. Stay tuned.

Damn, that's crazy. Gforce said he was working on race CVs but not sure where he is at on that. If he doesnt have a solution then I guess the DSS set up is the only option if you want a fix asap.

DSS is the **** as far as the pro axles, one of the best axle setups out there and very proven on many fast cars.

I wouldnt wanna be Gforces guinea pig for the cash they cost.

The center parts in the OPs picture looks like the little "presents" our old cat (RIP, Ernie!) used to leave us on the carpet from time to time.

Wow mine looked exactly like that and I have the GForce kit. Its not the axles it the cv's.
Good luck trying to find one if you havent allready, Dealer wants like $230 each.
I got mine used from F-Parts lol it was the cheapest way to get my car back up.
The Gforce cv kit is most likely going to be around $1000 just for the inner cv's mind you they are billet and use Porshe 930 joints. But after you upgrade those what goes next?
And when you buy the inners there goes the whole Econo part.

Yes guys, I have the 3rd gen rear diff. Seems to hold up very well to lots of power. Its still quiet too!

Swapping the axle with a new one was very easy! I was surprised. It took about 45 min.

ok... maybe a more realistic 1.5-1.6. Still fun to think about though. Launching a 2 ton car and running low elevens.... and still be able to drive it home from the track!
