its funny when they were asking for the money it was front page news and on every news channel as top story....
here they are paying 5 YEARS!! ahead of schedule and its a 20 sec story befor sports on the 10' o clock news...

Glad to see GM started the repayment ahead of schedule, they still have a ways to go on paying down 50 billion!!!!

They were only loaned $8.1 Billion, which they paid back yesterday. The rest of the money was stock that the government bought. They own about 60% of GM, and they will get all the money back when the company goes public again. With all the sales and momentum they have going, the IPO should be early next year.

ah..so the direct loan was 8 billion and the 50 billion in aid was the government buying stock??

Yeah they bought like $45 Billion in stock, giving the U.S. government controlling share in the company. When they go public again, they'll get the money back by selling it back to the public

you know the media only likes to show the bad things in everything... who gives a **** if things are getting better, no one wants to see that...

LMAO, laying off people and paying back 8-9 Billion of the 45+ is not paying back what Tax payers put in.

I used to be hard core GM, **** that. Ford is more american than GM will ever be now.
