Default Gains from LS6 intake vs LS1 in terms of MPH

Just curious to see what kinds of gains are seen in MPH & HP from switching intakes. I figure it will highly depend on mods ect.....but lets asume were going from bone stock LS1 with LS1 intake to LS6 intake.

How many MPH would be added to a trap and how much HP is typically gained.

#Would also be interested in the comparisons in the same format for LS1 to FAST.

I just happen to have one that came off my WS6 forsale if your interested. As far as bolt on power maybe 15-25 hp. MPH is hard to tell since if your stock you still have the rev limiter hooked up. I also have some LS6 heads too.

15-25hp is the first estimate....I would love to see maybe a comparison by timeslip. A set of runs where only the intake was changed. I am searching now.....

PM me on intake.

Don't expect 25+ hp, you won't even get those gains from a Fast on a stock engine. 10hp seems to be the norm on a stock internal engine.

My setup is actually in my sig plus a 100 shot. Still on street tires so time doesn't change much. Trap gains 6mph to 115 when spraying. Since mine is a 98, the intake is stalling me a little. Not near as much as the tires I know, but the point of this thread is mostly to get an idea of the gains I will aquire by adding the better LS6 intake.

With spray maybe 116-117MPH trap?

maybe i thought your trap would be higher then 115 witht he mods you have now. how many times have you run it? does the car have a good tune? i went 11.6 at 118 with the mods in sig on my SS.

^ Like I said above, I think the intake is slowing the car down a little. The 115mph is the fastest I have had with an LS1 intake. I have good headers, 1 7/8's open, so the addition of the intake should complete the breathing of motor to the best of it's ability.

My best time was w/o the NOS BTW.....with a 109mph trap. 12.69

Keep in mind I have LT's, Lid, and stall ONLY. No tune, no timming pulled yet, nothing.
A 115MPH trap in these cars can net mid 11's when you get the power to the ground. I'd say maybe your SS was capable of a little better. Still have room on my 60ft as well @ 1.8

Your intake isn't holding you back as much as you think, I would take that money your going to spend on an LS6 and invest in HPTuners or at least Diablo tuner so you can back the timing down some, you'll pick up more from the nitrous.

Every car is different. I know a guy who ran a 12.8 in a 01 SS automatic with street tires, a catback, and lid. That car was a freak of nature.

It is way overated IMO. On a modded car it may be worth 10-12 because it carries about 300 more rpm than a ls1 IM but FAST used to advertise the 90/92 as 20 rwhp over an ls1 and 15rwhp over an ls6 on a stock motor so the diff is 5rwhp.....

.05 in et and .5 mph before LT's. But better part-throttle torque and throttle response everywhere, so worth it, IMO. And I'm sure it helped with the total gains from the LT's.

I actually just made the swap and all I have additionally is a cat back and a few other smaller things done to my car. I'm heading to the track here within the next couple weeks and I'll be able to post a change in trap speeds for my a4 with just a ls1/ls1 intake swap with a catback.

im curious myself to find out the real difference it made.
