Default New clutch hard to get in gear

The clutch had no issues when I replaced it, just wanted a new one. The car is a 2001 with 33,000 miles on it. It never had any problems going in gear even at high rpm shifts at the track being sprayed. I put a spec clutch, spec aluminum flywheel, tick speed bleeder and tick master. The problem i have now is when i push the clutch pedal to the floor it goes in gear but I have to put some force on the stick to get it in. Now if i wait 2 to 3 seconds it goes in smooth with no effort and does this while stopped or driving. I did not replace the slave which was dumb but i figured if i had no issues why would i now. My question is could the slave have been going bad and with the new clutch fingers being stronger make it fail even though I had zero issues with the system before. One more thing there is no air in the system, i bled it like crazy which you cant screw up with the speed bleeder. Any thoughts?
