Which oil fitting on the LS7 oil pan is the feed to the oil tank, the one towards the engine front, or rear? Thanks, Al

The line towards the front of the pan is the scavenge line (oil return to tank). The line to the rear of the pan is the supply line (oil supply to oil pump).
