Default Tire Frustration / Feedback Request

So, in a bit of a bind. One of my rear F1 runflats has a sidewall piercing, grr. Was looking at doing the Hankooks as a replacement, but would have to wait 2-3 days on them. I found a store in town that has the Dunlop Direzza Z1 Starspecs in stock. Anyone have any experience with these? Or am I better off waiting on the Hankooks? Installed the Dunlops come out to be about $100 more and I have to do 245/45/18s all the way around.

Thoughts?

The Dunlops appear to be fine, as took first place over the Hankooks V12 and seven others, also rated higher than the Michelin PS2s. What is the price difference vs. the Hankooks?

They run about 60-70 more per tire than the Hankooks, according to onlinetires.com.

Discount Tires has no shipping, you can go 245/45/18 for $188.00/each, also 255/35/18 available but $231.00 each.
$182.61/each at Onlinetires for stock size Dunlap, not sure about shipping.
Tiredeals4less has Toyo Proxes 4 in 245/40/18 for just $136.98 before shipping, lots of write-ups, just Google them. I ran with these on my C6 before going widebody, no issues, no PS2s, but about 1/3 of the price, so I was happy.

I just put a set of hankooks on my V and bought them through discounttiredirect.com. They took 3 days to get to me and there is a $50 mail in rebate. I think they were $633 shipped or somewhere around there. I absolutely love the tires. They are extremely quiet and have excellent wet and dry traction. Probably the best all around tire I've put on any vehicle I've owned so far. If you can wait for the hankooks you will not be disappointed.

vulcantires.com is having a sale on the falken rt-615 since the new rt-615k is out... my 255/40/18 are $153... buy 2 get $15 off, buy 4 get $30 off... and they have a few warehouses, mine take 1 day to get to me

and i would stay away from onlinetires.com... great prices to draw you in, and then they tell u all are in stock but they arent... you get a shipping date and they havent even got to their warehouse yet in CA, so then another 4 days to get to me i said **** it and told them to refund the money, and didnt get that for 8 days later because of very poor customer service and getting tossed between the different people working there... so screw A.J. and John that work there...

I have heard that from others, I guess I am a lucky. I have bought 16 tires from them in the past 18 months and the tires always showed up three days after completing the order online. They are in SoCal and claim pick-up for locals. I do not work for them, but they have saved me a ton of $$$.

What kind of tires are you looking for? Street? Street/Road race? All season?. If you like HPDE track days I'd say the Direzzas or RE11s. I have the Yoko Advan AD08s and they are great track/street tires. The wide shoulder really fills out the wheel well and the tread width is .75 wider than the Runflat.
