vortec BBC parts?
Well since my 427 let go last week, i have 14 months to start building another motor.. im shooting for 600+ lb ft of torque peak.. HP doesnt matter... im thinking of picking up a 454, putting a stroker crank (496) with Vortec heads, Vortec carb'd intake, and a torquey cam..
Think its possible? i want less than 10.0 to 1 compression, pump gas, and good drivability. this is going in a 5500 lb pickup thatll be trail riding, towing, and occasionally breaking off honda's at the track.
i figured since the Vortec 454's make 410 lb ft of torque bone stock, with more stroke, more compression, and a better cam, i could possibly make it..

I will have you numbers on just that setup shortly. I have a 1997 vortec 454 with a good valve job, torker intake, cam, and Holley 850 in a 1995 Camaro that I should have going a a month or so. I am using a TH400 and all very good componets besides the "little" motor. I hope for 500 HP at the crank. We will see. Wish me luch and I will wet you know. IT should eat tires!
