hey guys.. im debating on what to do with my intake manifold/fuel rail covers for my ls2 motor thats going into a full custom show car.. should i paint the intake manifold the same color as the car or should i paint the fuel rail covers the same as the car and leave the mani black. or paint all 3 red or any different color? and i was going to have the front water pump, alt and bracket powder coated or painted silver to look nice. or if anyone else has any other options can they photoshop it like maybe painting the alt, bracket, waterpump black. ? im doing turbo so the piping will be under the hood also and turbo on passenger side
can someone please make them these colors. thanx

Love the pictures of the engine bay! My son and I are finishing up a 1966GTO with a 6.0 LQ engine. I noticed your a/c compressor appears to be attached to use the small belt down low. If you don't mind, what compressor are you using? We have a vintage air setup, and until recently I thought I could use the compressor that came with the engine. I am trying to keep the top of th engine uncluttered, but VA is telling me the Delphi compressor won't work with their system. Thanks for your help.

the delphi will work but i heard you have to overfill the system to get the air cool. where the a/c compressor i got is a sanden and they make it for the small v belt, 8 rib or 6 rib i think. i got the bigger one since i wanted more grip and the crank pulley you see is the stock gto one i have a ls2 corvette one going on since i went with the corvette assce. they had to custom make the a/c bracket and where it is i will only have one long belt on the motor instead of 2. i would of had to notch the frame to get it to use 2 belts.

My opinion, I would leave the rail covers black with the red lettering in them to break up some of the red and paint the mainfold red.

I would then get some logos made that matched the "corvette" lettering except it would say "Chevelle" instead and cover over them. After all it is a show car.

either your 1st idea but atleast sand the covers smooth and paint gloss black.. or paint both red, and paint the lettering black.
